Medals and swim caps from the Swimathon

I completed my first Swimathon 5,000m challenge in 1992 when I finished in a whopping 2 hours 15 minutes!  I then went back to try again in 1993 and I think I finished in just over 2 hours.  Due to being pregnant and suffering badly from morning sickness, I didn’t take part in 1994 and then concentrated on working and looking after my son for the next few years.

I took up the challenge again in 2006, finishing in just under 2 hours, and have been swimming 5,000m every year since.  This year (2013) I got a *huge* personal best of 1 hour 43 minutes!

Unfortunately, I can’t find my medals for 2006, 2007 or 2008 😦
