Are we really on Week 16 of Share Your World already? I can hardly believe it. Where’s this year gone?
Anyway, thank you Cee for another set of interesting questions.
How many places have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.
I lived in a number of houses and countries up to the age of 18 including Biggin Hill and Burgess Hill in the UK until we moved to Melbourne, Australia when I was 2.
We moved to Bahrain when I was 4 and then Lilongwe, Malawi when I was 6 (3 houses here).
When I was 10, we moved to Gaborone, Botswana and I went to boarding school in Croydon, UK (only 1 house in Gaborone).
We then moved to Hong Kong where we initially lived in an apartment on the island and then moved to a house in the New Territories.
Our last stop before returning to the UK, Basingstoke, when I was 18 was Harare, Zimbabwe.
I lived in 3 houses in Basingstoke (my parents’, my husband’s and then ours).
We moved to our current house in York over 10 years ago.
What type of music relaxes you the most?
Hmm, relaxing music? I don’t know really but I guess if I want to relax I tend to listen to Michael Ball, Russell Watson or country ballads. Here is a very young Michael Ball in the official music video for Love Changes Everything from the musical Aspects of Love.
If you could instantly become fluent in another language, what would that language be and why?
I don’t know why but I think I’ve answered this question before. Found it, there was a similar question in week 3 “Is there a language you would like to learn”. I said then that I learned French and German at school and have also learned Makaton. I’d love to be come fluent in either Makaton or British Sign Language so that I could communicate more effectively with my son and other children at the charity where I work.
If you could fly or breathe under water what would you prefer?
Since I enjoy swimming, I think I’ll have to choose breathing under water but flying would be awesome too.
