It’s National Stationery Week!

I didn’t know there was a National Stationery Week.  How did I not know that there was a National Stationery Week?  I love stationery, especially notebooks and pens.  In fact, Paperchase is one of my favourite shops.

I have 3 or 4 notebooks on the go at any one time with at least 2 or 3 waiting to be started. Oh, and pens, don’t get me started on pens.  I love pens.  I think I have over 10 “nice” patterned pens, not those cheap biros but nice pens.  I really like post-it notes too.

I’d like to say that I still write letters on a regular basis, not including the ones I write as part of my job, but I don’t.  I do, however, write postcards when I go on holiday.  I should write more postcards and/or letters.  It’s nice to receive post that isn’t a formal letter, bill or bank statement.  If I write letters, maybe other people will write them back to me.  Probably not though considering a 2nd class stamp costs 53p and a 1st class stamp costs 62p.  So, it is a lot cheaper, not to mention quicker, to write an email.

They are celebrating a different stationery item every day via their Facebook page.  Yesterday was pencils and today is notebooks.

Finally, I still use a paper diary/filofax at work and home as well as a wall calendar to keep track of all my appointments.  I have an electronic diary on my phone too but that is only because I can set a reminder alarm for an hour before the appointment so I’m not late!

If you love stationery as much as I do, enjoy National Stationery Week!

  1. I like this a lot!

i love stationery, I am something of a notebook addict and I still use a paper diary..it is a Moleskine Lego diary…it is awesome!!

    • Who doesn’t love a notebook? Especially when it’s new and nothing has been written in it yet. It’s like starting a new exercise book at school, you have to write in your best handwriting and keep it neat. Well, until you’ve filled up the first few pages and then it doesn’t matter so much any more 😛

      • hahaha..exactly! 😀

except I have a couple that are too nice and I keep thinking I should use them for something special…and not actually finding something to put in them..

actually that happens more often than it really should…

  2. Oooh I had no idea there was a national stationery week! I love it all; pens, notebooks, folders. Just this morning I had to write a list of stuff and got a funny look from the fiance because I’d picked up ‘the most awesome pen ever’… I’m glad I’m not the only one.

  3. I’ve literally just blogged about this – I had no idea about National stationery week either (how could I have missed this??)

It’s the last day today 😦 but at least we now know about it for next year!
