Share Your World – Week 6

I know, I know I’m very late with this but I was on holiday and didn’t even look at my computer or laptop while I was away.  I’m now playing catch-up and will post one of the Share Your World posts each day until I’ve caught up (I think I missed week 6, 7 and 8).

Have you watched or plan to watch any of the 2014 Winter Olympics?

I watched a bit of it, including the Ladies Skeleton Bob in which Lizzy Yarnold win gold, but then we went on holiday and I didn’t watch any more.

What is your favorite winter Olympic event? Would you ever want to be an expert in that sport?

I love the ice skating and would love to be able to skate.  I also enjoy watching curling, skiing (no, I don’t want to be able to do that), bobsleigh and skeleton.  I wouldn’t want to be an expert in any of the winter sports.  I suffer from Raynaud’s and just can’t cope with cold feet and hands.

Have you ever met an Olympic Athlete?

I had a swim training session with Duncan Goodhew, who won gold at the 1980 Olympics, in 2012.

Do you have a favorite athlete? Name sport.

I don’t have a favourite athlete but I am still in awe of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean (ice dance) when I see them on Dancing on Ice every Sunday.

What is your favorite exercise or sport? Is there a reason why?

I don’t think I have a favourite exercise or sport but I am starting to like running and I have always enjoyed swimming.  I like training in the gym when I have my personal training sessions.  I also enjoy participating in parkrun with my son.  I always need something to aim for though so I enter running events but I need to raise money for charity in order to complete them – I can’t let the charity down!
