Daily Prompt: Stroke of Midnight

Another daily prompt and I’m still here :)  I completed my week-long challenge and am now in to week 2.  It hasn’t been too hard to blog every day for the past week but I haven’t been at work and my son hasn’t been at school so my life has kind of been put on hold.  I’m sure I’ll be able to keep blogging every day until the end of this week but then I may get unstuck as I’ll be back at work, back at the gym and everything else which seems to take over my life.  I have enjoyed the challenge of blogging every day and I’d like to keep it up if I can.  Anyway, here’s today’s response to the daily prompt.

Where were you last night when 2012 turned into 2013? Is that where you’d wanted to be?

As the year changed from 2012 to 2013 I was at home with my husband and son waiting for midnight so that we could go to bed without being woken up by the fireworks which we knew would be set off by a few people who had held them over from bonfire night.

We had just finished watching New Year’s Eve on DVD and changed the TV on to BBC1 to watch the countdown on Big Ben.  I think that may now turn into an annual thing as I enjoyed the film and, as it lasts 2 hours we can start watching just before 10 pm and know we can go to bed when it finishes.

I would have preferred to go to bed at my usual time but apart from that, I was exactly where I wanted to be with the people I wanted to be with.  I’ve never been one to celebrate the New Year, Christmas is much more my thing.
